Los Altos Hills TBD Unbuilt

Project

Project Details

For this 9.5 acre wooded parcel in Los Altos Hills we suggested a transverse design which allowed us to keep most of the ridge as open space.

The narrow footprint cantilevers over a smaller stone base, a clerestory provides daylight from all four sides and maximizes the views into the surrounding forest and beyond. The garages and guest quarters are located on the opposite end of the ridge for maximum privacy and are mostly subterranean, connecting to the hillside above. A simple material palette of board-formed concrete and cedar siding supports the simplicity of this design.
